The Last Days and second coming of Christ judgment
What does the Bible say about the end time & the second coming of Christ
The idea of ‘no end of the world’ is a modern trend. For centuries, believers taught that JESUS will return at the end of the world. I remember when the return of JESUS and the end of the world shaped the core of Christian faith. Both White churches and Black churches firmly believed and preached the end of the world and the second coming of CHRIST
Over the past few decades, major shifts have taken place in churches and religious groups. Even the traditionally conservative black church has drifted from core scriptural precepts. Many Hebrew Israelite groups no longer teach the return of Christ or emphasize an end-time doctrine. Some argue the present world will continue indefinitely, while also dismissing the rapture. But the Bible specifically states that there will be an end and the Second coming of CHRIST.
These are the times of scoffers
But GOD Who knows all anticipated this and gave us the following admonition. Notice the reference to “the last days” and the Bible reveals these sinners as scoffers. Definition: Did you know that a scoffer is a person who mocks or ridicules others for their beliefs, particularly their religious or moral values, and often opposes truth or righteousness
2Pe_3:2 to remember the before described sayings by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of the Lord and deliverer of us the apostles.
2Pe_3:3 knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days shameless scoffers walking according to their own desires,
2Pe_3:4 and saying: Where is the promise of his coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things thus continue from the beginning of the creation.
The Bible describes these people as deluded. Mankind seeks pleasure and refuses friendship with God. Today’s churches display an appearance of godliness, but their actions deny it.
2Ti_3:4 betrayers, precipitous, being deluded, friends of pleasure rather than friends of God;
2Ti_3:5 having the appearance of piety, but denying its power. Even these turn away from!
The Bible is replete with references to the end time and second coming of Christ
The Bible makes it pointedly clear that there is an end time that leads to the last day and the return of CHRIST. On that day sinful man must give account for his deeds! There are many scriptures in the Old and New Testament that speak of an end and of CHRIST return. HIS returns signal the end of this present wicked world, the rescue of the real people of Israel, and the transition to the new Heavens and earth
Before I proceed. It is important that we also clarify the terms end times and last days are interchangeable. They refer to a period of days leading up to the last day. I believe we are now into that period.
The last day marks a single, definite time period. It may be the day the earth burns with fire, as in Revelation 20:14-15, followed by the new heavens and new earth. We cannot know the exact timing of the rapture of chosen Israel, but it must come in the final part of the end times, before the burning of the last day
Old Testament references that there is an end time second coming of Christ
For example, like Daniel 12:2-3, Job 19:25–27, Isaiah 26:19–20 In the Old Testament. I believe these are valid references, but the only problem is that they don’t speak directly of the end time, you have to assume it. For example,
Isaiah 26:19–20 proclaims that the dead will rise and the earth will release them. Believers view this as a prophecy of the resurrection at Christ’s return
I myself, understand that but many casual reader of the Bible may not necessarily interpret this as an end time prophecy.
But outside of those, I have found several references in the Old Testament to the end times. These unequivocally speak of the end time. But they also speak to the people of Israel with regards to the end times. This is very important.
The Bible is only concerned with the salvation of the real people of Israel. Therefore, the rapture of the believers of Israel is central to the last days.
Who are the true people of Israel that is central to second coming of Christ
By the real people of Israel, I mean the original nation God scattered across the world. Over 2,000 years ago, their Lord and Savior came to give Himself as a sacrifice for their sins. These are the people to whom the Lord spoke the following words:
Deu_28:64 And the LORD your God will disperse you into all the nations, from the tip of the earth, unto the other tip of the earth. And you shall slave there to other gods of wood and stone, which you have no knowledge of, nor your fathers.
Deu_32:26 I said, I will disperse them, and I will cause their memorial to cease from among men.
These include the Bantu tribes in Africa, their descendants taken into slavery in the Americas, and those still living in India, Pakistan, and the Middle East. Many also migrated to other nations worldwide. All share the ancestral Y-DNA haplogroup E1B1A
The many references of last days and the Israelite diaspora
I will discuss verses in the Old testament that speaks to the end time. Notice they all speaks to the ancient Israelite people. Example:
Deu_4:29 And you shall seek after there the LORD your God, and you shall find him whenever you should seek after him with your entire heart, and with your entire soul in your affliction.
Deu_4:30 And all these words shall find you at the last of the days, and you shall turn towards the LORD your God, and you shall hearken to his voice.
Notice that the first speak of Israel affliction and the second verse speaks of the la last of the days. These verses mirrors exactly the following verses spoken by JESUS 1430 later
Mat 24:3 And in his sitting down upon the mount of olives, there came forward to him the disciples in private, saying, Tell us when these things will be, and what is the sign of your arrival, and the completion of the age?
From the context of the question it is obviously referring to the last day and the return of JESUS
JESUS describe the end times and the end of days
Mat 24:9 Then they shall deliver you unto affliction, and shall kill you; and you shall be ones being detested by all the nations on account of my name.
In this context, ‘you’ refers to Christ’s disciples, the Israelites, and their descendants through the centuries. Deuteronomy 4:29–30 confirms the same truth. In the last days, Israel will face severe affliction across the world, wherever they live
Mat_24:10 And then many shall be stumbled, and they shall deliver up one another, and they shall detest one another.
This important twist that you must bear in mind: Some of the affliction will be coming from your own brothers and sisters
Mat_24:12 And on account of the multiplying the lawlessness, the love of many shall be made cold.
We can see that already. Through the wickedness of the time, many of Israel will participate in the affliction of others.
Mat 24:13 But the one remaining unto the end, this one shall be delivered
This is assurance for those who seek after Jesus will be delivered (raptured)
Mat 24:14 And this good news of the kingdom shall be proclaimed in the entire inhabitable world, for a testimony to all the ones among the nations; and then shall come the end.
When JESUS the MESSIAH came the first time, He brought the good news—the Gospel—for Israel. The promised ONE came to redeem Israel from sin through His work on the Cross. At His second coming, He will rescue them physically from the fire on earth by catching them up to meet Him in the air. Then the end will come.
more references to the end time and see how they blend in with Israel
You have seen that references to last days speaks to the people of Israel only. Not to other people or religions.
Dan_10:14 And I came to bring understanding to you as much as shall meet your people in last of the days. For the vision is still for days.
Obviously this is referring to the affliction to come of Daniel’s people, Israel.
Deu_31:29 For I know that at the last of my decease, with lawlessness you shall act lawlessly, and shall turn aside from the way of which I gave charge to you; and evils shall meet with you at the last of the days; for you shall do the evil before the LORD to provoke him to anger by the works of your hands.
Earlier we saw with shock that Israel will help the Gentiles afflict their own brothers. The Bible already warned of this, so it should not surprise us. Israel remains the only nation called by GOD.
God called Israel out of the nations by covenant, making them His people and He their God. Yet Israel has never been a monolith. Throughout history, some obeyed His Word, but most ignored it. That is why we read the following
Mat_20:16 Thus will be the last first, and the first last. For many are called, but few chosen.
Rom_9:27 and Isaiah cries out over Israel, saying, Though the number of the sons of Israel should be as the sand of the sea, the vestige shall be preserved,
GOD also reference the rebels of Israel in the last day
In fact all those rebels of Israel will all have the same fate as that of the Gentiles. Here is another that really signify the relationship between Israel and the GOD of Israel. HE invokes HIS judgment on them in the passages below. And has reserved HIS judgment on them in the last days.
Jer_30:24 In no way shall the anger of the rage of the LORD turn until he should execute, and until he should ordain the enterprise of his heart. Upon the last of the days you shall know them
Jos_24:27 And Joshua said to all the people, Behold, this stone will be to you for a testimony; for it has heard all the things being said by the LORD, as much as he spoke to you today. And this will be in you for a testimony unto the last of the days, whenever you should lie to the LORD your God.
After the conquest of Canaan, Joshua gathered Israel to remind them of God’s mighty works and to strengthen their trust in Him. Israel proclaimed they would serve the LORD, but Joshua replied, ‘You cannot serve the LORD, for He is holy and jealous, and He will not forgive your sins.’ From that moment through their history to the last days, Israel lied about their loyalty. Read this in Joshua 24:1–28
GOD afflict Israel to test for obedience
Deu_8:16 the one feeding you the manna in the wilderness, which you had not known, and your fathers did not know; that he should afflict you, and that he should put you to the test, and I do good unto you upon the last of your days;
God afflicts Israel to test their obedience to His Word. Through affliction, the chosen seek God instead of bowing to oppressors. In the last day, He will reward them with salvation and rescue
False Bible translation are also the origin of many no end time doctrines
Mankind hates God’s Word, and that may be the main reason people reject the second coming of CHRIST. Yet Scripture seems to support it in Isaiah 45:17, so we must examine the passage
Isa_45:17 KJV But Israel shall be saved in the LORD with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end.
This appears to state that the world will not end. I will return to this later
As a quick aside, I watched a Hebrew Israelite teacher claim the world cannot end. He ignored the KJV of Isaiah 45:17 and used Genesis 9:15 as proof that God would not end the world
Gen_9:15 And I will remember my covenant which is between me and you, and between every living soul among all flesh. And there will not be any longer the water for a flood so as to wipe away all flesh.
He argued that God promised never to destroy the earth again. He claimed that if God swore not to flood the world, then any other destruction would break His Word. But in Scripture, the word ‘flood’ often means a deluge of destruction. It points not to the end of mankind but to salvation. God revealed His covenant of salvation through Noah’s line, from Shem to Abraham, to Israel, and fulfilled in CHRIST
World without end (Isa_45:17)KJV. Is this taught?
But let us go back on topic. A closer look at KJV (Isa_45:17). We see that the world will not end. It that is so then we can disregard all the other verses that say there will be and end.
Therefore, there is a conflict with KJV (Isa_45:17) Therefore it should be worrisome to the one trying to know truth, finds out that there are conflicts in the Bible. But GOD’s is infallible.
So how do we sort this out? The tool of textual criticism helps. It compares verses and words across sources and translations to clarify the meaning of Scripture
Other than a couple of contemporary translations which came from the KJV and inherited the Masoretic text, this wording of Isa_45:17 is absent from any genuine bible translations. The phrasing “world without end” does not appear in them. Therefore “a world without end” would be Unbiblical
KJV (Isa_45:17) But Israel shall be saved in the LORD with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end.
Textual criticism –Comparing Scripture with Scripture
Septuagint (Isa_45:17) Israel is delivered by the LORD with an eternal deliverance; they shall not be ashamed, nor should they feel remorse unto the eon still.
The Brenton Septuagint (Isa_45:17) Israel is saved in the Lord with an eternal salvation: you shall not be confounded, and you shall not be ashamed for ever and ever.
The Hebraic Root Bible (Isa_45:17) Israel is saved by the Lord with an everlasting salvation: they shall not be ashamed nor confounded for evermore.
First Century Aramaic Bible: (Isa_45:17) Israel is saved in YAHWEH with everlasting salvation (Y’shua*). You shall not be ashamed nor disgraced to the forevers of eternity.
Darby (Isa_45:17) Israel shall be saved by Jehovah with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded, unto the ages of ages.
Young’s’ literal translation (Isa_45:17) Israel hath been saved in Jehovah, A salvation age-during! Ye are not ashamed nor confounded Unto the ages of eternity!
Lexham English Bible (Isa_45:17) Israel is saved by Yahweh with everlasting salvation; you shall not be ashamed, and you shall not be humiliated to all eternity.
This phrase does not appear in any other Bible translation we compared. The correct reading says Israel’s salvation is forever, not the world’s, because Scripture declares the world will end by fire. Christians and others have long struggled with the truth that salvation belongs to Israel.
GOD not only will end the world but HE will use fire
2Pe_3:10 But shall come the day of the Lord as a thief in the night, in which the heavens by a loud noise shall pass away, and the elements being destroyed by fire shall be loosed; and the earth and the works in it shall be incinerated.
2Pe_3:11-12 These things then all being loosed, what kind of persons must you be in holy behavior and piety, expecting and hastening the arrival of the day of God, by which the heavens being set on fire shall be loosed, and the elements being destroyed by fire shall melt away?
Rev_20:14-15 And death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death — the lake of fire. And if any should not be found written in the book of life he was cast into the lake of fire.
So what happens to the saved of Israel when the world burns?
If GOD is going to burn the world in fire, then what will happen to all the redeemed of GOD who will be living at the time. The bible is noticeably clear on that too. We read about that starting in 1 Thes 4:16-17
1Thes 4:16-17 For the Lord himself in a word of command by the voice of an archangel, and with a trumpet of God, shall descend from heaven, and the dead in Christ shall rise up first. Thereupon we the living, the ones remaining, together with them shall be seized in clouds, for meeting the Lord in the air, and thus at all times with the Lord we shall be.
Many call this event the rapture, even though Scripture never uses the word. The Bible clearly says believers will rise to meet the LORD in the air. The rapture stands as a truth of God’s Word, and it will happen before the earth burns with fire
(Isa_45:18) For thus says the LORD, the one making the heaven, this God, the one introducing the earth and making it; he separated it, he did not make it empty, but he shaped it to dwell in; I am the LORD, and there is none beside
If you still doubt that the earth will remain inhabited after the burning, read the following
Rev_21:5 And said the one sitting upon the throne, Behold, I make all things new. And he says to me, Write! for these words are true and trustworthy.
How shall the believer navigate the hard times
We of Israel who look for the LORD’s coming knows there will be hard times ahead. GOD knows that and mercifully provides help. Furthermore, HE provides us with certain signposts that will point to the nearness of HIS coming. In the following passage JESUS’s disciples queried HIM concerning the signs of HIS coming and the end time-and.
Mat 24:3 And in his sitting down upon the mount of olives, there came forward to him the disciples in private, saying, Tell us when these things will be, and what is the sign of your arrival, and the completion of the age?
HE told HE told us that we should expect wars and reports of wars. Food shortages, famines, diseases, and adverse climatic events. are not the signs of the end. they are just pointers that we are in the end time. The trigger event is the great affliction of Israel
Mat 24:8 And all these things are the beginning of birth-pangs.
Mat 24:21-22 For there will be then great affliction, such as has not taken place from the beginning of the world until the present, nor in any way to be. And unless those days were cut short, not even was any flesh delivered. But on account of the chosen ones those days shall be cut short.
Mat 24:9 Then they shall deliver you unto affliction, and shall kill you; and you shall be ones being detested by all the nations on account of my name
We should expect all this because we are told so. Ay this time we should certainly seek after HIM with all our heart and soul.
So what does GOD expect of the Believers today
God expects Israel to stay vigilant, to watch and remain awake. They must heed the warning signs JESUS gave. In the time of affliction, they must turn to Him as their refuge, not to their enemies for help
Mar_13:37 And what shall I say to you — to all I say, Be vigilant!
Mat_24:42 Be vigilant then, for you know not what hour your Lord comes!
Luk_11:35 Watch then lest the light, the one in you is darkness!
Mat 24:38-39 For as were in the days, the ones before the flood, gnawing and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, as far as of which day Noah entered into the ark, and they did not know, until the flood came and lifted all. So it will be also in the arrival of the son of man.
